(Korean traditional culture) Mother-of-pearl handicraft! What is 'Jagae'?

Hello~ this is Korea National Souvenir Center representing Korean traditional culture!

Today, I will introduce 'Mother of Pearl' that is a traditional Korean craft culture.

It is called Jagae in Korea

In the traditional Korean handicraft culture, Jagae means a piece of a golden shell. That’s because Jagae’s English name is ‘Mother of Pearl.’

Korean people could find these folding screens or furniture decorated with jagae in their grandmother's house. (I guess it's hard to find in the countryside these days)

Maybe you might think of this furnitures not useful and too expensive. but don't be serious because it's just a traditional craft. Xd

Jagae can be found in many Korean traditional chests, it is a dresser decorated with Jagae! it would be good for the interior decoration props.
