I'm excited about spring. I feel like leaving somewhere.

Many spring flowers encourage me to go out in the spring,

but I think the best one is cherry blossom trees that I will introduce you today.

Everyone has various cherry blossom festival sites except Yeouido and Jinhae, which are famous.
Among cherry blossom festivals, it is the most popular festival in Gyeongju.

Insadong has many Korean traditional teahouses

with a peaceful atmosphere.

Trusted traditional tea houses recommended by National Souvenir Center employees!

I prepared Jidaebang(지대방) review today :-)

The store was opened in 1982 and

is said to be the oldest traditional tea house in Insa-dong which has remained open so far.

I will visit again to eat flower tea and roast rice cake that I have not eaten yet.

When my sister got married, she moved into a new house.
Since she moved into a new house, I should prepare a house gift !

So I decided to give that is sold only in Korea National Souvenir Center!

And the hard work to search for gift, I found 3 of those.

First, dancheong(traditional multicolored paintwork on wooden) wild goose

It is painted with the characteristic colors dancheong

(traditional multicolored paintwork on wooden).

Blue, red, yellow, black, and white are basic in dancheong.

This makes them feel more colorful and classical.

The goose is traditionally a symbol of conjugal harmony.
It contains a message wishing for the couple to live a long life with unwavering love.

Therefore, it is also good as a wedding present or a gift to the parents for their wedding anniversary.
Since ancient times in Korea, it has been said that

the groom brought a pair of wild geese to the wedding ceremony.

It is because it means prosperity and love.

When you open the colored SSang-Hap,

you will see four small drawers, two on each side!

Isn't the butterfly drawn on the handle so cute ?

The plum, orchid, chrysanthemum, and bamboo are

all painted in different colors, so they are look good.

Third, Traditioanl Korean Taeguek Cutlery

Korea has a culture of putting stew and soup alwayts on the table

So spoons and chopsticks are important  in the kitchen.

Let me introduce you to the Spring Flower Festival BEST3 in Korea,

which offers you a nice spring breeze to meet.

Let's find out what kind of place is there.

1.  2018 Gwangyang An ume Flower Festival

The 2018 Gwangyang An ume Flower Festival is held from March 17 to 25

Spring flowers festival held in Gwangyang, Jeollanam-do is a festival

where many people gather to see the pink ume flowers.

It used to be a rough hill, but now it has turned into a plum blossom paradise.

This year, the Gwangyang An ume Flower Festival will host

hanbok fashion show, plums Cooking Show,

Youth & Hope Concert, and plums' health table talk concert.

3. JeJu the Rape Flower Festival

One of the popular festival held in Jeju, the Rape Flower Festival. 

The Jeju Rape Flower Festival, celebrating its 61st anniversary,
will be held in Seogwipo City from April 7 to 15. 

There are various events planned including

rape flower parade, photo exhibition, and virtual experience.

You can also experience a variety of events associated with the rape flower festival;

making a wreath with rape flowers, making rape oil painting, horseback riding.

We are back at the review of  snack bar in Iksun-dong.

It was pretty cold day, but many people were waiting in line.
So I lined up to try it too.

The store's name is Iksun-dong Rice Market(익선동 쌀상회)

The feeling of the signboard and the interior element are

reminiscent of streets in Seoul in the 1960s and 70s

I chose regular honey hodduk.
A regular honey hodduk costs 1,500 won each.

 

It is less greasy than regular hodduk,
so it is a very delicious.

try delicious long hodduk snacks!
