Hello, this is Korea National Souvenir Center!

When you are in the process of doing working life,

you are constantly trading things. What do you think it is?

Yes, it is your business card!

But do you know that there is etiquette in exchanging business cards?

Today, we will learn some tips and manners to exchange business cards.

Check business card manners

One, keep the business card in the wallet and take it out when use it.

At work, it would be convenient to store them in a business card case.

TIP

Do not obscure the information in readable direction!

Two, when you exchange business cards,

get up from your seat and exchange cards with your two hands!

If you sitting down with your business card and handing it over with one hand,
you're the worst!

The rule is to get up and exchange business cards.

TIP

When you exchange business cards at same time,
you exchange them with your right hand and get them with your left hand.

Three, The business cards are exchanged according to position

1) The person with the lower position gives it to the superior first.

2) If you visit another company, the person you visit give first

3) If another member of a different position is accompanied,

it is given to the other team from the higher position.

Four, don't put your business cards in your pockets or wallets immediately.

When you receive a person's business card,

be sure to ask them one or two questions about it in a formal way.

Five, Put a brief memo on the cover sheet?

Do not write on the card in front of the other party!

But, it would be hard to remember if you just put them
in the same place after you receive them, right?

Keep a cover book and write down simple features on a memo!

You have noticed that there is also good manners in exchanging business cards.

Maybe it would be a good opportunity to impress the first impression of " I "
by exchanging business cards with the other person.

I hope all of you remember this business card etiquette
and make yourself more reliable and attractive!

Hello, We are Korea National Souvenir Center.

It sure is warm these days, isn't it?

Today is 'Gyeongchip', One of the seasonal customs of Korea.

'Gyeongchip' is the day on which insects appear from their holes in the earth.

The green buds come out on the trees, I think the spring is about to begin.

Today, I would like to introduce you to the origin of 'Gyeongchip'

and the green items that match frogs.

The Meaning and Origin of 'Gyeongchip'

'Gyeongchip' is the day when the frog awakes from hibernation.

Around Gyeongchip, in Korea, when the continental high pressure falls,
migratory high and low pressure drops regularly pass through the nation,
repeating cold weather and mild weather, and the temperature rises daily until the end of spring.

Even the buds and frogs that grow new leaves in the spring
seem to be very green in the spring.

So I prepared,

Green color product for preparing Gyeongchip Go, go, go!

1. Folk prints Notebook

In the spring, everyone would buy pretty notebooks.

' Irwol Obongdo ' is a folk notebook you can see at Korea National Souvenir Center.

I think this notebook attracts people's attention
because it has animals, flowers, and scenery in cover prints.

Notebook composed of 'Hwajodo', 'Hojakdo' and ' Irwol Obongdo 'are suitable for

writing down simple ideas and diaries!

2. Ramie Patchwork Table Mat

I think the ramie patchwork table mats are perfect for spring.

They are made of ramie fabric,
so it is good to use it from spring to autumn.

The color scheme is also gorgeous, so I think it is perfect for spring !!

Frog will running around this mats, isn't it? ~ (~ ˘ ▾ ˘) ~

They're really pretty if you put them under tables, potted plants, or even a cup of tea.

3. Pop-up card

Among the various products I will introduce, this product was my favorite one.

It is a pop-up card for 6 traditional Korean buildings.

Among these, the pop-up card of 'Geunjeongjeon' is really green, right?

When you open the card, each of the buildings appears in 3D.

This card is good for personal collection, but it is also a good gift.

As the weather is getting warmer,
why don't you visit the buildings shown on the pop-up card when you visit Korea?

4. Doorbell

With doorbell, you can feel the spring breeze with the clear bell!

This product is also a good opening gift.

In particular, it has a wide range of choices as it is equipped with a variety of designs!

Because it is spring, green house, green tree, and green fence design are most popular.

As I imagine the clear bell ring as the door opens, and the spring breeze is blowing,
I would like to attach it to the door as soon as possible.

I can't wait for spring to come.

What do you want to do first when spring comes?

Thank you.

Hello.

It's Korea National Souvenir Center :)

Today is the 15th day of the New Year according to the lunar calendar,
one of the most important holidays in Korea.

The 15th day of the New Year according to the lunar calendar is the first full Moon of the year.

The Great Full Moon Day is the largest and brightest day of the year !

It is a day to drive out the darkness with the power of the moon and fire.

On the 15th day of the New Year,

why don't you enjoy eating ogokbap and breaking the nuts today?

Before that, let's find out what the meaning of the Great Full Moon of Korea
and what it does on the day of the first full moon.

Q) What  is the 15th day of the New Year according to the lunar calendar?

A) The 15th day of the New Year is the most important and meaningful day of the Korean traditional custom.

For a long time, Korea considered the full moon a symbol of abundance and fertility,
especially on the fifteenth of lunar January,

because it is the first full moon of the year.

They said they considered it even more special.

Q) What do you do on the 15th day of the New Year?

A) On the fifteenth of lunar January, people around the country pray for the happiness of the year.

We also play various folk games.

Some of the most famous events are village memorial service,
moon wedding wish, rat fire game, and moon house burning.

Rat fire game is a three-time rite on the 15th day of the New Year,

in which rats, other harmful animals,
and evil spirits can be traced to a stoneware, or a fire game played on a field bank.

When the moon house burning occurs on the night of the 15th day of the New Year,

It is said to be a custom of burning a stack of pine trees and other things to enjoy,
such as a good New Year's holiday and a year free from diseases.

Q) What is the food eaten on the 15th day of the New Year?

On the fifteenth of lunar January,

five-colored grain of red, red, white, and black are eaten on the day of the first full moon.

For oriental medicine, eating ogokbap on the fifteenth of lunar January is

interpreted as a form of balanced body with the energy of five different kinds.

And we eat various old vegetables with ogokbap.

The most common vegetables are bracken, shirragi, and balloon flower.

We have radish, chinnamul, bean sprouts, and spinach.

Then, why do we eat vegetables with Ogokbap?

If you boil vegetables on the15th day of the New Year,

you will not be affected by summer heat.

Have you ever heard of Gwibalgi drink?

Gwibalgi drink said, 'This drink makes your ears brighter.'

means to drink soju or refined rice wine

on the morning before the 15th day of the New Year.

When people drink cold drinks that are not heated on the morning of the 15th day of the New Year,

they become unconscious, have no earache, and have a brighter ear.

It is said to be a custom created by.

On the fifteenth of lunar January, there are some things you can't miss out.
It's Bureom.

Bureom is the custom of biting down on nuts to wish for a healthy year.
In the past, there were frequent breakouts on the skin due to poor nutrition.

It was also very dry around the day of the first full Moon Festival.
It is our ancestors' wisdom to prevent skin diseases by eating nutritious nuts, right?

We learned about the 15th day of the Lunar New Year, in Korea.
Isn't it fun and interesting?

We hope everyone stays healthy this year.

Thank you :)

Hello.

It's Korea National Souvenir Center.

March 1 this year is the 99th anniversary of Samiljeol.

Samiljeol, Independence Movement day is

the day that Korea announced to the world

its independence intention on March 1, 1919.

Let's learn about the meaning of Taegeukgi

to commemorate the Samiljeol(삼일절).

The meanings contained in the Taegeukgi

The Korean flag, Taegeukgi, is white and has a taegeuk mark in the middle,

And a Geon, Gon, Gam, Li in four corners.

The wite background of Taegeukgi is light and pure,

and it represents ethnicity of traditionally loving peace.

The taegeuk mark in the middle represents

harmony of Yang(sunny spot) and Eum(shade).

It is a representation of nature's truth

that all things in the universe are created and developed by the interaction between Yang(sunny spot) and Eum(shade).

The four trigrams at the four corners show the changes and improvements

of Yang(sunny spot) and Eum(shade) in each other.

It's expressed in detail through a combination of filial piety.

Of all things in the universe, Geon trigram is the sky, Gon trigram is the land,

Gam trigram is water, and Li trigram is fire.

We have studied the meaning of Taegeukgi.

I think Korean flag has so many meanings!!

Very interesting :)

To commemorate Samiljeol, Independence Movement Day,

why don't you try drawing Taegeukgi?

Thank you :)

If you walk on the streets these days, you may have seen pictures of dogs,
promotions about dogs, and products
.

I'm sure many people are curious about this phenomenon.

That is why.

'Year of Golden Dog'

(from. http://www.koreatimes.co.kr)

There is an annual Korean rite at the beginning of the year, based on Chinese astrology,
they predict the characteristics of the New Year and what the year will be like.

Predicting the New Year based on the characteristics of zodiac animals is unique to East Asian culture. Chinese astrology experts predict what will happen in the New Year based on the presumed characteristics of the animal.

2018 is the "Year of the Golden Dog," a characterization derived from the "Year of Musul."

In Chinese character, "mu" means yellow while "sul" refers to dog.

Yellow or gold is the color of royalty. So Chinese astrologists said babies born this year will grow up to be leaders. People born in the Year of the Dog are reliable and thoughtful.
They are deep thinkers and will have a good reputation. They may be gentle and quiet, but they tend to explode when agitated and their anger is hard to control.

In the Year of the Golden Dog, some experts said the nation's fertility rate will rise because of positive interpretations. The birth rate also rose significantly in the year of the pig in 2007,
when experts said babies born that year would become rich.

Korea is now mired in year of " Musul " and  " golden dog " .

What about YOU ?

Don't you want to get away from your busy life?
How about one night in a deep snowy forest temple?

Temple in the deep forest, seems an ideal place to let go of 2017 and meet the New Year.

The late Venerable Beopjeong, a revered Buddhist monk, said,

"If you'd like to know who you are, you have to look thoroughly into your mind and at what's around you. If you carefully reflect on who you hang around with, what you like to do, how you affect your neighbors and what you value most in your life, you can get a sense of who you really are."

Unlike in the summer when birds chirp and the stream murmurs,

winter temple stay provides complete silence and peace for people..

Stepping on snow, you will feel the cold but refreshing wind and you can hear only a small sound.

The following article is taling about winter temple stay and good to read.

New Year's templestay gives peace of mind

from. koreatimes.co.kr

According to the article, Temple Stay has various programs.

For those who want undisturbed rest, the relaxation templestay is recommended, but those who want to experience more of the daily life of Buddhist monks can choose experiential programs that include various activities. Participants can enjoy Seon meditation, conversation over tea with Monastic or lotus making sessions. "

If you are here to enjoy Korea, how about Temple Stay?
