"What is it for?"

What is this sharp object...?

Let me show you three examples!

1. Acupressure..?

2. A surprise toy on the chair.....?

3. Limited Edition chocolate..........?!?!??

.

.

.

.

The answer is acupressure!!

Today, Let's take a closer look at the Beads for finger-pressure

on sale at Korea National Souvenir Center.

It's in a black square box with a picture of flowers on it.

so beautiful and luxurious.. TT

If you open the box,

you'll see two beads for finger-pressure, a storage bag,

and a picture of the position of the acupressure.

Can you see a correspondence with hands?

Just apply pressure to the point of ill-health.

I felt something refreshed after I actually fiddled with it.

Hello.

It's Korea National Souvenir Center :)

Today is the 15th day of the New Year according to the lunar calendar,
one of the most important holidays in Korea.

The 15th day of the New Year according to the lunar calendar is the first full Moon of the year.

The Great Full Moon Day is the largest and brightest day of the year !

It is a day to drive out the darkness with the power of the moon and fire.

On the 15th day of the New Year,

why don't you enjoy eating ogokbap and breaking the nuts today?

Before that, let's find out what the meaning of the Great Full Moon of Korea
and what it does on the day of the first full moon.

Q) What  is the 15th day of the New Year according to the lunar calendar?

A) The 15th day of the New Year is the most important and meaningful day of the Korean traditional custom.

For a long time, Korea considered the full moon a symbol of abundance and fertility,
especially on the fifteenth of lunar January,

because it is the first full moon of the year.

They said they considered it even more special.

Q) What do you do on the 15th day of the New Year?

A) On the fifteenth of lunar January, people around the country pray for the happiness of the year.

We also play various folk games.

Some of the most famous events are village memorial service,
moon wedding wish, rat fire game, and moon house burning.

Rat fire game is a three-time rite on the 15th day of the New Year,

in which rats, other harmful animals,
and evil spirits can be traced to a stoneware, or a fire game played on a field bank.

When the moon house burning occurs on the night of the 15th day of the New Year,

It is said to be a custom of burning a stack of pine trees and other things to enjoy,
such as a good New Year's holiday and a year free from diseases.

Q) What is the food eaten on the 15th day of the New Year?

On the fifteenth of lunar January,

five-colored grain of red, red, white, and black are eaten on the day of the first full moon.

For oriental medicine, eating ogokbap on the fifteenth of lunar January is

interpreted as a form of balanced body with the energy of five different kinds.

And we eat various old vegetables with ogokbap.

The most common vegetables are bracken, shirragi, and balloon flower.

We have radish, chinnamul, bean sprouts, and spinach.

Then, why do we eat vegetables with Ogokbap?

If you boil vegetables on the15th day of the New Year,

you will not be affected by summer heat.

Have you ever heard of Gwibalgi drink?

Gwibalgi drink said, 'This drink makes your ears brighter.'

means to drink soju or refined rice wine

on the morning before the 15th day of the New Year.

When people drink cold drinks that are not heated on the morning of the 15th day of the New Year,

they become unconscious, have no earache, and have a brighter ear.

It is said to be a custom created by.

On the fifteenth of lunar January, there are some things you can't miss out.
It's Bureom.

Bureom is the custom of biting down on nuts to wish for a healthy year.
In the past, there were frequent breakouts on the skin due to poor nutrition.

It was also very dry around the day of the first full Moon Festival.
It is our ancestors' wisdom to prevent skin diseases by eating nutritious nuts, right?

We learned about the 15th day of the Lunar New Year, in Korea.
Isn't it fun and interesting?

We hope everyone stays healthy this year.

Thank you :)

Hello.

It's Korea National Souvenir Center.

March 1 this year is the 99th anniversary of Samiljeol.

Samiljeol, Independence Movement day is

the day that Korea announced to the world

its independence intention on March 1, 1919.

Let's learn about the meaning of Taegeukgi

to commemorate the Samiljeol(삼일절).

The meanings contained in the Taegeukgi

The Korean flag, Taegeukgi, is white and has a taegeuk mark in the middle,

And a Geon, Gon, Gam, Li in four corners.

The wite background of Taegeukgi is light and pure,

and it represents ethnicity of traditionally loving peace.

The taegeuk mark in the middle represents

harmony of Yang(sunny spot) and Eum(shade).

It is a representation of nature's truth

that all things in the universe are created and developed by the interaction between Yang(sunny spot) and Eum(shade).

The four trigrams at the four corners show the changes and improvements

of Yang(sunny spot) and Eum(shade) in each other.

It's expressed in detail through a combination of filial piety.

Of all things in the universe, Geon trigram is the sky, Gon trigram is the land,

Gam trigram is water, and Li trigram is fire.

We have studied the meaning of Taegeukgi.

I think Korean flag has so many meanings!!

Very interesting :)

To commemorate Samiljeol, Independence Movement Day,

why don't you try drawing Taegeukgi?

Thank you :)

Hot Place in Seoul

K-tour 2018. 2. 23. 17:10

Hello~

We are National Souvenir Center !

It looks like spring is coming.

It's getting warm enough that I don't have to wear a jacket anymore.

It looks like there are many people who visit Korea as the weather gets warmer.

Those who travel to Korea, or are now in Korea

Did you wonder a lot about where to visit in Seoul?

Let's find out about the hot spots in Seoul that are popular these days.

1. Insa-dong

Insadong is a must-trained place for foreigners.

As it is also called the street of traditional culture,

you can see various Korean cultural events and traditional art pieces there.

In addition, Insa-dong is packed with about 100 galleries.

Also the National Souvenir Center are located in Insa-dong,

allowing visitors to tour various traditional Korean items and make a good purchase.

(Greet when I meet you! Promise!)

And the HR traditional culture festival, which started in 1987, provides fun.

There are many events available, including traditional performances and exhibitions,

and a variety of events that will enable visitors to participate directly during the event.

2. Ikseon-dong

There is quiet space in the noisy and complicated city.

It's Ikseon-dong.

There are many Hanok buildings to feel the present and past of Seoul.

If you walk past Gwanghwamun's skyscraper and go to Jongno,

you will see a Nakwon Alley.

Starting from the Nakwon Alley, go inside further.

The reason why this place has become a hot spot is the atmosphere.

Ikseon-dong is a small and delicate place to experience the authentic Korean atmosphere.

There are many traditional teahouses with the atmosphere of Hanok,

so it would be good to visit and eat pumpkin saltimI, bar rice cake, chrysanthemum tea, omija tea.

3. Mangwon-dong, Mapo-gu, Chungbuk, Korea

Located in the southwest of Mapo-gu, Seoul, Mangwon-dong is also a hot rising spot.

Known as Mangridan-gil, this place is famous for its young merchants,

distinctive small restaurants, and unique atmosphere of cafes.

Stores located in Mangwon-dong have one characteristic in common.

Most cafes or restaurants are too small to fill with three or four tables.

Mangwon-dong has many small restaurants that sell dishes of various nationalities

that are rarely found anywhere else.

It is also a good place to end the day with a quiet drink and conversation.

4. Hongdae

Last year, the most popular tourist destination was Hongdae

which was visited by foreigners visiting Mapo-gu, Seoul.

The streets of Hongdae are filled with youth, romance, art, underground culture, and individuality.

There are exotic cafes, small galleries, small stores and fashion shops, live cafes

and clubs, and a variety of restaurants.

Hongdae is always crowded with many people

because it has various events, street performances, festivals, and other cultural elements.

As it is the start of all trends, it is also a good place

to enjoy unusual activities such as VR experience, room escape cafes, and archery cafes.

I hope this posting helps you a lot.

Thank you.

Memorable objects

K-design 2018. 2. 22. 10:28

Hello!

We are National Souvenir Center.

It is already March 2018.

Suddenly, I felt it was too sad to pass my time and memories.

How can We keep our memories?
Let me introduce various items that will help you to keep your precious memories.

It is a memo with sensitive and sophisticated illustrations.

If you don't write down precious moments, you forget them.

If you can record a funny and precious moment at the end of the day, why not remember it for a long time?

Since each page has different illustrations, it will be fun to wait for which pretty paintings to come tomorrow.

Letters are items that you can't forget when you think about them.

We grow in love with each other by exchanging letters with important people.

In my case, it is too bad that I lost a lot of letters that I received from my friends and parents when I was little,
because I didn't keep them properly!

So I brought this hanjI wooden box.

HanjI wooden box is composed of 3 colors!
Why don't you keep your own letters in the Korean traditional paper box of your choice?

I'm sure you'll enjoy taking it out later!

When the jewel box is opened, it deploys into second place.

Also, Arirang melody flows out and It has 4 color type.

Don't you have your own precious jewelry besides jewelry?

I still keep the clams that my childhood friend gave me in her jewelry box.
It would be really effective to store and store items with your memories.

From the olden days, our ancestors served tea to valuable guests.

As you drink tea with your customers, you can recall memories.

The lacquered tea set is free from discoloration, the possibility of bacteria reproducing,
and is durable enough for use over time.

Why don't you have a cup of warm tea and talk to someone?

These days, pictures are popular as gifts, so how about a frame?

I think it would be very pretty if you put a picture with some precious memories in it.
It has a frame with light, so it's perfect for decorating or interior.

With the event of this season, it would be perfect for a housewarming gift and a gift to someone who is dear to you.

Today, we learned about various items to keep our memories.

How do you keep your memories?

I wonder about your story, too!
(You can let me know in whispers in a comment!)

Thank you.

Hey~!
We are Korea National Souvenir Center.

Interest towards the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics has increased.
Many people cried and laughed at the athletes ' efforts and results while watching the Olympics.

Today, I would like to introduce tourist attractions

that should not be missed by anyone who visits

Pyeongchang and Gangneung in Gangwon Province to watch the worldwide festival,

2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics.

1.  Is there winter kingdom? Sheep ranch in Daegwanryeong

Sheep Farm in Daegwanryeong-myeon is the most essential course in Pyeongchang.
Sheep Farm is very accessible in the stadium.

It is only 6 kilometers from Pyeongchang Olympic Plaza and 15 minutes by car.

Enjoy the beautiful snowy winter scenery and experience the sheep being fed with hay.

2. Walk with SOVS in calm hidden place.

Would you like to enjoy the heat of the Olympics and then feel the nature in a quiet place?

if then, Woljeongsa is recommended.

Inside Odaesan National Park, the entrance to Woljeongsa Temple is packed with

about 1700 fir trees 40 meters tall.

As you walk along the landscape with white snow, you will feel the deep winter flavor.

However, please note that there is an entrance fee of 3,000 won!

3. Enjoy the winter sea in Gangneung and coffee at once

Hot-place in Gangneung is a coffee street located along the Anmok coast.
If you have seen the game at the Gangneung Ice Arena, you can go there more easily.

Most cafes have big windows to see the ocean,

or a loop tower and terrace are provided.

Let's get hooked on Gangneung's charm by drinking a cup of coffee

that suits your taste and favor in the open sea!

4. Again, Tokebi

Last year, the Korean drama Tokebi was a huge sensation.

Pyeongchang Yongpyong Resort is known to have installed an interesting photo zone

on its side of the gondola tower.

Its theme is the drama Winter Sonata and Tokebi, they so-called "Korean Wave Photo Zone ".

If you recognize the QR code installed in Photo Zone,

you can also watch drama clips.

Be sure to participate! :-P

Let's move on to fun places after the game with your family, friends and loved one!

Even though the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang ends on February 25,

the International Paralympics will continue its Olympic Games!

Korea National Souvenir Center is to cheer for

good results with the efforts and enthusiasm of all the athletes.

Thank you.
